On February 12, 2024, Colonel Manuela-Elena Bercea took part in an interview led by Dr. Katerina Krulisova, senior lecturer in international relations at Nottingham Trent University School of Social Sciences.
During the discussion focused on „Implementation of the UN Agenda for Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)”, the, ms. Bercea brought a valuable perspective on the implications of this agenda in the context of Romania. It highlighted the need for concrete initiatives to protect and promote women's rights in conflict-affected areas.
In her open and clear speech, Ms. Bercea detailed the challenges and obstacles encountered in implementing the WPS Agenda in the context of Romania. With all the difficulties, he stressed the importance of the support of state institutions and highlighted the constructive collaboration with them in order to achieve the objectives.
Ms Bercea's contribution does not stop only at her dedication to the WPS cause, but also at the efforts made by Romania to promote gender equality and women's security.
