From September 6-7, the Chief of the Gender Management Office issues and the National Focal Point on Women, peace and security participated in the working group organized on the sidelines of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union ( EU ) in the city of Segovia, Spain.

The working group brought together experts and politicians in the fields of human resources and gender perspective, and the purpose of the meeting was to establish measures to adapt to EU requirements, in order to promote women in the Armed Forces, in relation to existing human resources.

The Focal Point of Romania, Lieutenant-Colonel Manuela-Elena Bercea, as speaker, presented the adaptability and evolution of the Women's Agenda, peace and security, in the context of the co-presidency of the Global Network of National Focal Points, and addressed the topic of implementation of the National Action Plan at the level of our country, as well as the stage of elaboration of the second National Action Plan of Romania.

In 2023, Romania and the United States co-chairs the National Focal Points Network on Women, Peace and Security ( WPS – FPN, Women, Peace and Security Focal Points Network ).

From 1 July to 31 December 2023, Spain holds the presidency of the EU Council for the fifth time, and one of the priorities of the Presidency is to advance the adaptability and evolution of the Women's Agenda, peace and security.
