Official visit of Alabama National Guard in Romania, 10 mar. 2022

In the margins of the activities organized on the International Women’s Day and on the occasion of the arrival in Romania of the delegation of the Alabama National Guard, the head of the Gender Management Office of the Ministry of National Defence attended on March 11, the meeting between the President of the Committee for Defence, Public Order and National Security in the Romanian Senate, Mrs. Nicoleta Pauliuc and Mrs. Maj.Gen. Sheryl Gordon, head of the Alabama National Guard delegation.
The two ladies held discussions and shared lessons about the role and place of women in the defense system and political life.
Senator Pauliuc support the promoting of women to leadership positions in all areas of activity, respecting essential conditions, namely: professionalism, competence and eligibility.
Major General Sheryl Gordon said, “defending the country is a general duty, which is equally incumbent on women and men.”
At the end of the activity, the commander of the Alabama National Guard thanked tov Gender Management Office for the effort made in organizing the activities on March 10 and 11 and handed to the chief of the office, Lieutenant Colonel Manuela-Elena Bercea, a symbolic plaque.
