The Department for Parliament Liaison and personnel welfare, through the Gender Management Office, organized on March 10, the High level Conference “Women in security sector”/“Women in Defense sector”, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, in conjunction with the arrival in Romania of the delegation of the Alabama National Guard, led by major General Sheryl Gordon.

The conference that took place at the National Military Circle was a special occasion for launching a bilateral dialog at the level of command factors regarding the participation of women in the defense sector, sharing experiences and good practices.

Among the topics discussed were: promoting women in the defense sector; women in the armed forces: recruitment policies, retention policies, participation in external missions; gender equality between women and men – combating and preventing harassment at work, etc.
