2023 Focal Points Network Co-Chair Meeting, 1 mar. 2023 03.03.2023
On 1st March, the United States and Romania, as co-chairs of the Global Network of National Focal Points, organized an online seminar in which they set the general topics and common priorities for 2023 and shared the schedule of the following events to the other members of the network, conferences and meetings that will take place throughout 2023.Also, during the meeting, it was emphasized the need to focus the Network effort in the achievement of the unitary definition of the role of the National Focal Points, the implementation of the National Action Plans in the reference field and the standardization and coordination of the Centres of Excellence in the field of Women, peace and security.
In addition to an overview of the 2023 Co-Chair themes, priorities, and priority efforts, the 2022 Co-Chairs joined the meeting to provide reflections on their co-chair year. Also the Namibian Focal Point and Civil Society partners joined the presentation and discussion. At the end of the meeting, took place during a breakout session with the representants from the WPS Focal Points .
Romania was represented at this activity by Mrs. Gianina Dimitrescu, director at the National Agency for Equal Ppportunities between Women and Men and Lieutenant Colonel Manuela Bercea, chief of the Gender Management Office of the Ministry of National Defence.
