Meeting of the National implementation Group , 23 Feb. 2023 23.02.2023
Today, February 23, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence, took place the first working meeting in 2023of the National implementation Group of the National Strategy and National Action Plan regarding the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) (UNSCR) Women, Peace and Security.
The activity was opened by State Secretary for Parliament Liaison and Personnel Welfare, Eduard Bachide, who thanked on behalf of the Ministry of National Defence and appreciated the involvement of the institutions of the defense system, public order and national security in the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda, highlighting the results that the National implemetation Group achieved during the implementation of this strategy on the territory of Romania.
The role of the National implemetation Groupis to coordinate the implementation of the measures set out in Government Decision no. 561/2020, to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the National Strategy and the National Action Plan (NAP) on UNSCR 1325 (2000) Women, Peace and Security.
The agenda og discussions included the following topics:
- Information on the US and Romania exercising the co-chair of the Global Network of National Focal Points on Women, peace and security;
- The reports of the institutions on the implementation of the National Action Plan in 2022;
- Opening work on the development of the new national action plan.
